Consulting Engineer covering Central Europe working for a Leading Manufacturer of Automation, Control and Machine Safety. Basic salary negotiable DOE.

The Consulting Engineer will be responsible for assessing machines, training staff and remediating, validating machines on site, creating a high level of support to customers and will have specific project related tasks such as the creation of detailed safety requirement specification, the development of design drawings for safety control systems, the creation of conceptual designs of mechanical guarding, co-operating with the local sales organisation and Company Project Managers to address key customer issues with regards to safety compliance and specific site needs and to take a share in internal safety standards and procedure management. This role will require regular travel across the EMEA region.

Other duties include:

• The co-ordination of partners' on-site machine safety assessments for production machinery
• Overseeing partner activity during the conceptual design phase
• Identifying quality and compliance of contracted safety solutions ensuring they are in line with the relevant standards
• Ensuring partner activity is aligned with customer standards and local codes of practice
• Liaise with supplying partners to ensure pre-site preparation is checked
• Report daily on status of project progression
• Ensure customer expectation during installation phase and oversee the installation of remediation delivery by partner installation teams

As the successful Consulting Engineer you will have a strong knowledge & grounding in Machinery Safety equipment and standards, will ideally be qualified to degree level and will have a number of years’ worth of experience to draw upon. You will either have or will be working towards a Professional Safety certification and will have on-site experience of installation projects. You will be self-driven, target oriented and able to take decisions professionally, will be punctual & reliable and will have the ability to quickly and effectively respond to questions from managers, co-workers and customers alike. Due to regular travel across the EMEA region, you will have a current passport and full driving licence.

Other relevant experience & traits required:

• Strong Electrical / Controls background associated with industrial machinery
• Experience and knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic concepts
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to convert identifiable needs into product solutions
• Ideally has a background in applying, working with and installing safety products on industrial equipment
• Have experience in conducting training and presenting in customer meetings
• Ideally you will have had responsibilities in applying and documenting application standards for a variety of manufacturing machinery
• Have experience in reading and or writing technical manuals or other operating procedures in a manufacturing environment
• Have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers, and authorities
• Have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardisation exists
• High energy, ability to multi-task, and manage ever-changing priorities
• Strong problem solving mentality and skills
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills (effectively communicate with customers, colleagues and management)
• Ability to work independently
• Well-developed planning, organisation and implementation skills
